3. aster the verb phrase “have to”, “don’t have to” and “had better” to build up our bodies:

4. Talk about how to fight SARS:

Step 1 Re view 第一步 復習(時間:8分鐘)
1. (由問候學生,關注學生健康狀況,過渡到對健康話題的討論。注意應用情態(tài)動詞should, shouldn’t,并應用上一話題重點句型。)
T:How are you feeling today, class?
Ss:Very well, thank you.
T:I’m glad to hear that. That means you are in good health. Health is more important than wealth. Then how to keep healthy? You’d better say it with “should/ shouldn’t”.
S1: We should have healthy eating habits.
S2: We should do more exercise.
S3: We shouldn’t eat too much.
S4: We shouldn’t go to school without breakfast.
S5: We shouldn’t exercise on an empty stomach.
S6: We should have enough sleep.
S7: We should brush teeth twice a day.
S8: We shouldn’t read in the sun.
T: Good advice. If w e can do as you said, we can keep healthy.
2. (由健康話題轉入對班規(guī),校規(guī)的討論,要用到must, mustn’t,以便導出本節(jié)目標語言don’t have to, needn’t.)
T:Having good habits can make us healthy. I think having good rules can make us study and
live better. Do you think so?
Ss:Yes.
T:What rules must we obey in the school?
S1:We must keep the school and classroom clean and tidy.
T:We have to keep them clean.

T: Good habits can help us to keep hea lthy and bad habits can cause diseases. In 2003, there was a serious disease called SARS spreading. What do you know about SARS?
附:SARS is the short form for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.
T: It spreads easily among people.

Step 2 Presentation 第二步 呈現(xiàn)(時間:10分鐘)
1. (出示小黑板上的問題,讓學生帶著問題聽1a錄音,回答問題。核對答案。)
T: Now, listen to the tape and find out the answers to these questions.
(1)What’s angkang’s father?
(2)What do you know ab out SAR S according to the dialog?
(3)What should we do to fight SARS?
Answers:
(1)angkang’s father is a doctor.
(2)SARS spreads easily among people.
(3)We should eat healthy food and do more exercise to build up our bodies. We should keep our rooms clean and often open the windows. We shouldn’t go to crowded places. If we don’t feel well, we should go to see a doctor at once.
2. (認真閱讀1a,找出關鍵詞及生詞。)
T: Please read the dialog loudly and then find out the key words and neords.

Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 鞏固(時間:8分鐘)
1. (再放1a錄音,并讓學生跟讀,注意模仿語音語調。)
T: Listen to 1a and repeat. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
2. (學生自讀1a后,四人一組練習對話并根據(jù)黑板上的關鍵詞,表演出。)
T: Read 1a by yourselves, then practice it in groups of four. You can look at your books. Then close your books, and look at the key words on the blackboard, then act out the dialog in groups of four.
3. (聽1b錄音,完成1b,并以問答形式鞏固。)
T: Let’s do 1b. Listen to the tape and check (√) the correct boxes.

T: Let’s do 1c. First read the dialogs, then find the target language “don’t have to/needn’t”.
2. (先師生問答,然后由學生兩人一組問答。)
Example:
T:ust we finish homework on time?
S1:Yes, we must.
T:ust you finish it now?
S2:No, we don’t have to.
S3:No, we needn’t.
3. (看2中的圖片,討論怎樣預防SARS。)
T: Look at the pictures in 2, and discuss what should we do to fight SARS.
(討論幾分鐘后,要求學生完成2里面的練習。提示學生注意should, had better, must的用法。)
T: Follow the examples to make dialogs using the sentence patterns:“We should…/We had better …/We must …”.
