around和round相似，均作副詞和介詞用。美國人習(xí)慣用around，如下列各例句：

around有一些固定的搭配，如around and about，around and above，all around等。而有時(shí)不可用around，如winter comes around，all the year around，win one around等；
round與around的比較：round常指在圈內(nèi)或者曲線上的移動(dòng)或定位。英國人還常用round作“去到一個(gè)地方的每個(gè)部分”或“分東西給組里的每個(gè)人”。而around則指不明確的，模糊的移動(dòng)或定位。

around的基本意思是“在周圍,在附近”“到處,四周”,指地理位置。
around作“大約”解時(shí)，主要用于數(shù)字前，有時(shí)也用于表示時(shí)間的短語前。
around作“恢復(fù)過來”解時(shí)主要用于健康狀況或意識方面。
around常用在動(dòng)詞后面作狀語，還可用作表語或置于名詞后作定語。作“恢復(fù)過來”解時(shí)還常用作賓語補(bǔ)足語。
around作“流通著的；可利用的”“見過世面的；閱歷廣的；經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的”解時(shí)多用于口語，一般用于完成時(shí)中。
around用作副詞時(shí)不用于比較等級。
